Biography
Andrei Baltag is a Research Assistant at the Institute of Archaeology of the Romanian Academy, Iași Branch, where he has been active since 2021. He is currently a PhD candidate within the same institution. He graduated from the Faculty of History at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași and subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Archaeology, Ancient Civilisation and Art. His research is primarily focused on medieval numismatics and monetary circulation in the region of Moldova, with particular interest in coin hoards and numismatic finds within their archaeological context. In parallel, he is involved in fieldwork related to the Roman and Late Roman periods, participating in investigations at sites such as Ibida, Noviodunum, and Argamum, as well as in numerous preventive archaeology projects.
