Biography
Marian Adrian Lie is a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Romanian Academy, Iași Branch, a position he has held since 2019. He completed his BA and MA studies in Archaeology and Classical Studies at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and is currently a PhD candidate at Universität zu Köln, where his research focuses on Bronze Age tell settlements and their internal organization. His research centers on Bronze Age communities in the Carpathian Basin, with particular emphasis on tell and tell-like settlements, spatial organization, and social dynamics. His work integrates modern, interdisciplinary approaches, including landscape analysis, geophysical prospection, and the study of settlement structure. He is involved in international research projects, notably a project funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), which investigates the development, internal organization, and social structure of a complex Bronze Age tell settlement at Toboliu (Bihor County, Romania). He has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences (Barcelona, Miskolc, Tübingen, Suceava, Iași), contributing to current debates on prehistoric settlement systems and social organization.
