Short biography

Alexandru Berzovan is a Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Romanian Academy, Iași Branch. He obtained his PhD in History from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, with a dissertation focusing on the Lower Mureș Basin and the southwestern Apuseni Mountains during the Classical period of pre-Roman Dacia. His research is centred on the archaeology of the Second Iron Age, with particular emphasis on Geto-Dacian civilisation, fortifications, and spatial organisation in the pre-Roman environment. He has participated in numerous archaeological excavations and field projects across various regions of Romania, contributing to the documentation and interpretation of sites from this period.
