Sign and Symbols on Cult Objects From the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages (II). Suceava 2024

The Institute of Archaeology in Iași, in collaboration with the National Museum of Bukovina in Suceava, is organising a new edition of the international symposium Signs and Symbols on Cult Objects. From the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. The event continues the series of meetings dedicated to the study of signs, symbols, and representations associated with ritual practices and cult objects.

Adopting a broad, diachronic, and interdisciplinary perspective, the contributions explore various forms of symbolic expression, the meanings of sacred objects and representations, and their transformation across diverse cultural contexts, from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages.
